F.A.Q.
Q: How do I pre-register?
A: You can register on-line using Eventbrite and pay via paypal.
Q: Do I need to sign up for specific classes?
A: No. Your badge will gain you admittance to all Con functions, however, there are a few classes that will have materials fees. These will be identified in the class description on the website and in the program book.
Q: When I pre-register will I get mailed tickets?
A: No. If you are pre-registered, you just need to show up to Con, go to the main Assembly Area and get in the Pre-Registration line. We will look you up by the name you pre-registered under and give you your registration packet and badge for the weekend.
Q: Can I pre-register for a 1, 2 or 3 day badge?
A: No, we only take pre-registrations for full 4 day badges, for adults, youth (12-17) and children (11 and under). All other types of registrations are available at the door only.
Q: Are discounts available?
A: You may volunteer at the convention and earn a reimbursement of all or a portion of your registration fee. See our Volunteering section for details.
Q: How do I feed myself during the weekend?
A: Our program book contains a map and listing of local area restaurants. You can also pack a cooler. There are a LIMITED number of fridges and microwaves available upon request from the hotel, however, once they are gone, they are gone. ConVocation's Hospitality Suite is there to provide light snacks between classes to help make sure you make it from one meal time to the next.
Q: Can I donate food to the Hospitality Suite?
A: Yes, please limit your donations to fruits with peels, chips, desserts or the like. We cannot accept any donations that need to be heated or cooked.
Q: How will I know if a class has been moved or canceled?
A: There is a bulletin board outside Ops (Operations) in the main Assembly Area that will have announcement of any changes to the schedule along with a daily grid.
Q: Do you have child care?
A: No. We are not licensed or inspected and cannot provide child care. We have classes designed for children, check class descriptions for recommended ages. All children must be signed in and out of EACH class. There is a half-hour break between classes, you may not leave your children in the room during that time.
Q: Where do you get your images from on the website?
A: All of our images are pre-approved by the M.E.C. Board of Directors and ConChair(s) before posting on the FaceBook ConVocation group. Once there, the images are randomly selected and set here. We are careful to ensure that no images of minors are shown.
PHOTOGRAPHY F.A.Q.
ConVocation is pleased to have a staff photographer who will be wandering through our hallways snapping pictures, feel free to ask him to take a picture, and ask him how to get a copy of the print.
Please be respectful when taking your own pictures.
Always ask permission of the others in the photograph.
If someone states that they do not want their picture taken, do not take their picture.
Please no photos of minors during Convocation at anytime, or posting of pictures that were taken of said minors.
Please refrain from pictures during classes or rituals without the specific permission of those running the class and those in the class or ritual itself.
Please refrain from flash photography in the drum circles, dance floors, or other dark spaces - you may blind other attendees.
Please no flash photography around the platform in main lobby, while photography is doing couple photos before the masquerade ball.
Common courtesy will keep us all happy with photographic (or not) evidence of a wonderful weekend.
To find photos taken by the official Con Photographer, please keep your eye out for the instructions at convocation.org and our FaceBook.
